Food Web

This biome would not be complete without the animals and the competition. Taigas hold multiple species of animals. This food web shows the producers, first-level, second-level, and third-level consumers. As you continue along the food web, there becomes less and less predators. The populations of animals in the food chain depend on each other. As a predators population decreases, the population of the animal it preys on increases. An example of a food chain that can be found in the Taiga could be Sun to Algae to Snails to River Otter to Red Fox to Fungi.
Human Interactions

In Taigas there is not a large human population or many urban areas, but there still are human interactions that are important to the taiga. Deforestation is a negative human interaction with a taiga that is caused by cutting down to many trees at one time. This can lead to entire ecosystems being destroyed thanks to first level consumers such as bugs, birds, and squirrels being forced to leave. Hunting is another human interaction with the taiga that can greatly lower the population of some species though it does not pose a great threat to animals in the Taiga that are hunted such as the American Black Bear or the Red Fox since neither are endangered. On top of all the other listed Human caused problems forrest fires can happen in the biome like any other biome inhabited with trees. This can lead to complete destruction of habitats and ecosystems on top of the forrest being destroyed.
